Volunteers bring balanced, home-cooked dinners to our guests 365 days a year. Your support is critical to our program's success. We are in constant need of volunteers and this is a great first step in partnering with our organization. Want to make our space feel like a home away from home for our guests? Fresh paint, colorful flowers and seasonal accents all can achieve this! Come paint a mural or bake Christmas cookies. Make our outside walkways beautiful by planting flowers and vegetables for our families to enjoy! We will work with your talents and interests!
We are looking for drivers to accompany guests to visit potential apartments, offer transportation to different appointments throughout the city of Buffalo or just help get parents with kids in tow to the grocery store. As a trustworthy and responsible supportive resource, you will help to empower guests as they regain their independence. This volunteer position requires comfort driving a 12-passenger van and some safety checks.
Do you know how to put up a shelf or hang a door? Do you notice when your car registration is about to expire? We could use someone like you! From painting to hanging to building to putting new windshield wipers on our van, use your skills to help keep our space and vehicles up and running.
Love to party plan?! Our fundraisers and celebrations require a team effort. If you are great at putting together baskets to raffle, have been to a meat raffle or two, think selling 50/50 tickets at a Sabres game sounds fun or know where to find a deal on a bounce house, we could use you at our next event!
Think Family Promise is great? Want to tell the world about us? We are looking for advocates to go to speak at congregations or staff tables at events and help share our mission. Help us build up our hospitality network one outreach opportunity
Our staff wants to be our in the community advocating for our guests and our program. Help us cover our main office during business hours Monday-Saturday so we can get out into the community more! From answering phones to updating apartment and job listings to picking up special projects, you will quickly become an integral and critical part of our team. This volunteer position requires a once-a-month commitment and training.
Not afraid of the East Side? Share hospitality to our guests by covering an evening and overnight hospitality shift! at our 75 Hickory location. You have the opportunity to provide compassion and kindness when you choose to sit and converse with our guests, read books to our kids, or by simply being present. When our guests need space, feel free to read a book or catch up on homework. This volunteer position requires a once-a-month commitment and training.
