Our Hospitality Network

Founded on Hospitality

Family Promise of WNY unites volunteers to form our hospitality network - over 500 hands and hearts which come together to form the backbone of our organization.  And although we welcome everyone into our hospitality network, our primary partners are faith communities.   We believe religious institutions have an essential role to play in lifting up our community.  Our program is based on the value of hospitality that is found in every religious tradition and provides the framework which allows volunteers to put their faith into action in order to directly minister to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Our Model

Our model rotates guests between our Day Center and our network of host congregations.  At our Day Center, families shower, children catch the bus and adults receive intensive Case Management to help them move towards stability.  At our host congregations, families receive  a hot, home-cooked meal and overnight accommodations.  Each host congregation welcomes our families for one week four times each year and has a constellation of support congregations to assist with additional volunteers during host weeks.
