Alongside our partners, we keep families experiencing homelessness together by offering emergency housing and compassionate support as they work to find their way back home.
We seek to build a community that wraps homeless children and their families in hope.

"Family Promise meant everything during our stay. I was able to meet a variety of people from different religions and backgrounds from myself and learn a lot. All employees of Family Promise were welcoming and made me and my daughter comfortable while residing here. Staff go above and beyond to get you the help and resources you need on your journey so you can start the next chapter of your life once you secure housing. Thank you for everything!"
"Family Promise has meant everything to me. Without y'all I wouldn't be doing as good as I am now. You all have worked with me and I can't thank you enough. The staff are awesome. I'll never forget my stay at Family Promise. Me and my son very much appreciate you all. When I first signed up for a shelter, I was so scared. But being at Family Promise made things easy. You all are a big help and I thank you. God bless you all!!!"
Family Promise is open to all families, regardless of race, religion, age, or sexual orientation. Eligible families consist of one or both parents or guardians who are caring for at least one child under the age of 18 and pregnant women with or without children. We do accept families which include fathers and teenage sons.
If you are a family in need of services, go to the Department of Social Services at 158 Pearl Street, 1st floor and look for the window that says "homeless". Bring all your identifying documents. Families will be referred to our program from there. Families are accepted into our program between the hours of 9:00am-1:00pm Monday-Friday.
"Thank you so much for helping my family and I feel whole again!! The staff made us feel very welcomed and not judged. This place is a safe haven to finally be able to focus on a great transition. I hope families can appreciate Family Promise!! Thank you thank you, thank you!"
"I'm very thankful that we were able to be a part of the program. Family Promise gave my family something to look forward to every morning - we knew we were going to be treated not as just homeless people but as a part of the real world. We got to maintain our dignity and self-respect and my family stayed together and we were happy. Thank you Family Promise."
"I feel as though Family Promise has gone over and beyond for me and my family and assisted us to the best of their ability and we wouldn't ask for anything more. I just want to say 'thank you' for helping me and my family when we needed it most. There will never be enough words to express our appreciation - Thank you, thank you."
"The people at Family Promise really feel like a family.. . not something you would expect from a shelter. They always made myself and kids feel at home. They are people who genuinely care."
"I feel really good being here. I often feel judged by people or have to face 'how did she get into this situation. . . especially with kids?' I haven't felt judged by anybody here, not for a moment since being here. Everybody has been so nice to me."
"We are grateful for everything. There were times we felt discouraged and we were feeling low and all the Family Promise team reassured us that everything would be alright. And it was! I would recommend Family Promise to anyone in need of help. In tough times, Family Promise was our glue and held us up. Thank you x1000!"
