What is Planned Giving?
When you think about planned giving, there are many doors you can enter through to support Family Promise!
- You can work with your insurance provider to add us as a beneficiary to your Life Insurance.
- You can work with your employer to fill out a designated beneficiary form for your IRA or 401(k) to add us as a retirement fund beneficiary.
- You can work with your financial advisor to add us to any of the above.
- You can work with your lawyer to name Family Promise as a secondary beneficiary in your will or in a trust.
Sometimes, the process can be as easy as going online to complete paperwork electronically or signing a simple form at your next meeting with one of the professionals listed above.
No gift is required upfront to make any of these designations.
You also have the power change your designation as your life changes.
Join the Crossroads Legacy Society
The Crossroads Legacy Society was created to recognize our community of donors who make planned gifts to Family Promise. The legacy society was named in honor of Crossroads Lutheran Church, who made an incredible gift of $100,000 to Family Promise of WNY which was used as seed money to open our Keeping Our Promise Endowment. All planned gifts are added to our endowment in order to prioritize the long-term sustainability of Family Promise for years to come!

How To Initiate a Legacy Gift
Any planned gift, of any size, offers you membership into the Crossroads Legacy Society and includes special recognition both in our shelter building and on our annual report, website and social media.
